<Body of Work: The Cutlery> is my graduation project from the Bachelor of Metal Art and Design in Seoul - a small seed that has since grown to influence my later work, both visually and conceptually. This project questions the traditional relationship between people and the tools they create and use.
While we shape our utensils for practical purposes, what if these objects could gain their own free will? Would they remain fixed, or would they change as they interact with life itself?

In this work, I reimagine cutlery not as lifeless tools but as living companions -helpers at the table that break free from their assigned roles. In <Body of Work: The Cutlery>, everyday utensils take on a kind of autonomy. They adapt, evolve, and respond to their surroundings, transforming from mere objects into friends. This idea encourages us to reconsider the boundaries between functionality and identity, a renewed sense of wonder〞one where we see ourselves and our surroundings not as fixed or predetermined, but as continuously evolving and full of untapped potential.
